Diorite Priest of Amun

This diorite statue of a Priest of Amun dates to the 30th Dynasty of the Late Period. The priest is depicted wearing a wig in the style of the Old Kingdom, though rendered with the sculptural conventions of the Late Period. His body has been polished to a smooth finish, and his facial features reflect the characteristic style of the Late Period and Ptolemaic era.

On the back pillar are carvings of the Theban Triad—Amun, Mut, and Khonsu—accompanied by hieroglyphic inscriptions, including epithets of the deities and dedications to the deceased.

Although the legs are now lost, the statue remains in remarkably good condition.
